To formulate various development projects, monitor and evaluate the works, and have coordination among the subordinate bodies on that matter.
To hold, or cause to be held, review meetings of development projects run by the Ministry and subordinate bodies in a regular manner.
Also in consultation with the concerned Divisions, to formulate, or cause to be formulated, such programs as to enhance capability of the employees serving at the Ministry and the subordinate bodies.
To render necessary assistance to the Foreign Aid and Quality Standards Division in matters including formulation of projects to be operated with donor agency assistance.
In consultation with the concerned Divisions, to formulate policies on operation of projects/ programs under the Ministry.
Also in cooperation with the concerned Divisions, formulate plans and project budgets for such programs by obtaining details from the Departments and corporations under the Ministry for the programs to be launched by such Departments and corporations.
To approve, or cause to be approved, projects in consultation with the Ministry of Finance and the National Planning Commission.
Based on the budgets allocated for the projects approved by the National Planning Commission, to approve, or cause to be approved, annual programs of district and central projects, and give information thereof to the concerned Divisions.
To make revision or alteration as per necessity, in the program approved as per the allocated budget and give information to the concerned Divisions.
To contribute to proper utilization of the available resources by avoiding overlapping of programs, after maintaining coordination among various programs launched under the Ministry.
To assist the Administration Division in carrying out acts relating to project manpower required for the programs and projects to be launched under the Ministry, and to enhance capability of the manpower.
Also in cooperation with the concerned Divisions, to prepare and update progress reports of the projects launched under the Ministry and appraise the same periodically.
To regularly monitor and evaluate implementation of the projects launched under the Ministry, and submit problems related with implementation to the meeting of the Ministry level development problems resolution committee for resolution of such problems, and give information thereof to the concerned Divisions.
Also in cooperation with the concerned Divisions, to regularly inspect the projects under the Ministry and provide the Ministry with actual situation of the projects.
Also in cooperation with the concerned Divisions, to hold meetings of the Ministry level development problems resolution committee, and submit progress evaluation of the projects.
To carry out necessary acts on such matter related with the Ministry, in which action has to be taken as directed by the national development problem resolution committee and the Central Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the National Planning Commission.
To carry out such other acts as may be specified, from time to time, by the Central Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the National Planning Commission.
Also in cooperation with the concerned Divisions, to prepare progress details booklets of the major works carried out by the Ministry and subordinate bodies and publish the same after expiration of each fiscal year.
